Installed in February 2007, our 3.0 Tesla MRI has been providing the State of Delaware with a quality of imaging previously only available at research hospitals, such as Johns Hopkins and the Hospital of the University of Pensylvania. It offers medical diagnostic capabilities which surpass those of less powerful magnets.

The 3T MRI has twice the field strength of most conventional MRI scanners, which typically operate at .3 - 1.5 Tesla. The 3T strength can increase the imaging resolution by 16 times. The 3T MRI captures images with a level of detail, clarity and speed never before possible. Some of the procedures that the 3T MRI system will particularly benefit include:
